論文摘要:

The transition towards sustainability has become a critical strategic imperative for businesses across industries. Sustainable business transformation necessitates a shift from traditional linear business models to more adaptive and resilient frameworks that incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations. This shift is driven by multiple forces, including regulatory pressures, consumer demand for sustainable products, and the need for long-term risk mitigation in a rapidly changing global economy (Mariani et al., 2022). Businesses must integrate sustainability not only as a compliance requirement but also as a strategic driver for competitive advantage and innovation (Iacovidou et al., 2021). Within this context, sustainability is no longer an isolated corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative but a core component of business strategies that foster long-term growth and resilience.

A key challenge in sustainable business transformation is managing interdependencies between industries that have traditionally operated in silos. The integration of different industries within sustainable ecosystems presents an opportunity to leverage complementary strengths and achieve systemic sustainability gains. The distillery and tea industries serve as compelling examples, given their respective impacts on carbon emissions, resource consumption, and waste generation. Both industries have been adopting sustainability measures such as decarbonisation strategies, circular economy principles, and resource optimisation techniques (Gao et al., 2024; Liu et al., 2024). However, a holistic approach that facilitates cross-industry synergies can further enhance sustainability outcomes. By examining their interactions within a shared sustainability framework, this study explores how strategic collaboration between these industries can contribute to net-zero objectives.

Achieving sustainability in complex business ecosystems requires coordinated efforts among diverse stakeholders, including businesses, policymakers, consumers, and researchers (García-Agüero et al., 2024). The role of stakeholder management is crucial in aligning economic incentives with sustainability goals, fostering collaboration, and enabling the adoption of innovative practices. A systems-thinking approach offers a valuable perspective in understanding these interactions, as it highlights feedback loops, interdependencies, and unintended consequences within sustainability transitions (Ackoff, 1994; Williams et al., 2017). This study employs stakeholder theory and systems thinking to analyse how industry stakeholders can co-create value, optimise resource use, and drive sustainability transformations through integrated business strategies.

This research contributes to the literature on sustainable business ecosystems by investigating the dynamics of industry integration and stakeholder collaboration in achieving sustainability goals. By focusing on the distillery and tea industries as a case study, it provides empirical insights into how cross-sectoral partnerships can enhance environmental, economic, and social sustainability. The study also advances theoretical discussions by integrating systems thinking and stakeholder theory to explore the structural and behavioural patterns within sustainable business ecosystems.
